December 2016: I was invited to join Walkabout Theater as an Artistic Associate with one other artist, a dear friend of mine. This is Walkabout's first expansion to create a group of artists to support their ensemble. I'm so honored to be a part of this family. As an Artistic Associate, I'll be working on grants as well as performing.
December 2016: I began understudying at Redtwist in Death of a Salesman, running February 4 to March 5, 2017.
November 2016: I traveled to NYC to observe rehearsals for One Year Lease's workshop of their Untitled King/Riggs project. Growing up with my tennis-obsessed dad and playing tennis, it was refreshing to see the sport onstage. Literally. Yes, the amazing creators and devisers of OYL used this workshop to figure out how to recreate the iconic Battle of the Sexes tennis match on stage. I had such a blast reconnecting with my OYL family and exploring the city.
August 2016: Summer concluded with five fantastic performances of Walkabout Theater's Tall Girl and the Lightning Parade at the University of Chicago, Walsh Playground Park, and La Villita Park. And the rain gods were on our side! We fortunately had no weather issues!!!
July 2016: Ooooh summer, you look so good! Let's play outside! I just began rehearsals for Walkabout Theater's Tall Girl and the Lightning Parade. Stilts, puppets, music, an ACTUAL parade in the Chicago parks: what more could you ask for?
July 2016: I was honored to perform in Queeroism at Collaboraction, a festival of short plays that celebrated positive, strong, and heroic queer stories and benefited the Broadway Youth Center. I also teamed up again with the lovely Georgette Verdin and Matthew Nerber of Interrobang Theatre Project for this piece.
June 2016: To start off the summer, I performed in (re)discover theatre's first ever F(re)sh Ink reading series. I read the role of the Present Fate in Wanderlost, an adaptation of the Odyssey, by Samantha Mueller. Learn more about F(re)sh Ink here!
April 2016: Over the first weekend in April, I was called on to perform as the Stage Manager in Interrobang Theatre Project's Recent Tragic Events! Check out reviews for our Jeff recommended (!!!) show on The Chicago Tribune, The Chicago Reader, Broadway World, and NewCity Stage.
March/April 2016: I'm understudying two roles in Interrobang Theatre Project's upcoming show, Recent Tragic Events, at The Athenaeum. I get to work on my puppetry!
February 2016: I appeared as Frances in a staged reading of a new play, The Wildling, by CJ Chapman at Profiles Theater. I got to play with lots of old friends from The Boxer and be a part of the development of a play that featured all female characters.
